Kotilingeshwara Temple,Kolar

This temple is situated around 100 Kms from Bellandur Bangalore. As we entered we saw hundreds of shivlingas arranged nicely, as we walk past them we could feel divine aroma everywhere.
Temple was very clean and seems shivlingas were painted recently,as we got heavy paint smell
all around. Initially when we entered  we found a couple of small temples of different Gods, visited them for darshan.
We kept on walking admiring the beauty and entered  the second but main complex of the temple.
As we entered  we were surprised to see lakhs of beautiful shivalinga everywhere all around.
They were looking as if kids are standing in school morning assembly :-)
We took a walk around the paths and admired the beautiful landscape created with shivlinga's presence.
The main and biggest shivalinga is very beautiful and very huge. In-front of it sits very huge Nandi.
Look at them for few minutes and u will fell proud that u r born as a HINDU.

Iruvar 1997

I watched Mani Ratnam's Iruvar(1997)  in 2009 and since then it has stayed with me and  is one of my favorite movie for my reasons.

First and top most reason is that it introduced me to one of the greatest actor of Indian Cinema Mohanlal (my most favorite actor now).
Secondly it made me realize how good actor Prakash Raj is (till now I had seen him in Telegu Movies in underrated roles).
Third is that it was not only written well, it had a very powerful screenplay also. Full credit to its director Mani Ratnam for a wonderfully written and executed script

Taking reference from real life of most famous political personalities of Tamil Nadu, it must have not been easy for the writer, but Mani Ratnam did a full justice to that. He gave equal importance to both the lead characters and wrote a screenplay which gave space (i mean equal space and not equal scenes) for both of them to perform their best.

Although as per story-line Prakash raj got many good scenes in the movie (and may be that's why won National award), Mohanlal with his limited role due to screenplay did a far more tremendous job as an actor (as per my opinion) in the movie.

Coming back to my favorite actor Mohanlal, he had some many brilliant shots in the movie, my personal favorite all are all scenes where Prakash and Mohanlal both are in same frame, they kind of try to outshine each other.

The scene where both the leads have a discussion and Mohanlal asks for a portfolio, the scene where Mohanlal makes a speech against his own party, or the scene where both of them meet in  a function for the last time, each one of the scene has been acted and executed very well.

Iruvar's duo has what Sholey's duo did had, a more poetic, complex and real to believe friendship.

Mother India 1957

Mehboob Khan directed Mother India 1957 tops the list of my most all time favorite movies. It seems like Nargis jee was born for that role. Raj kapoor wasted her in all of his movies and when she came out of his shadow she gave a performance that no actress can match till now.

Movie might seems to be sad and boring if you just read the story, but if you see the movie you will realize that it inspires us to brave enough to face every problem in life. There are a bunch of scenes to prove it. First would be the one when Radha along with her sons work in the fields when her husband leaves her. Second would be the one where whole village is leaving except her and she inspires them to stay back as these fields are our mother and we cannot leave our mother. The scene where she cooks for her sons during the floods. Epic scene is the climax in which she kills her son for doing wrong.

Mehboob khan made the movie on a lavish scale with big indoor sets and lavish art direction. I believe he could have shot the movie without big sets and interiors but he has already done so in Aurat (1940), so this time when he remade it, he took the story execution and art direction to the highest level of his career.

Sunil dutt's role was written so well and acted even better. He perfectly was able to deliver the rebellious character of Birju's character. He was so brilliant that for the years to come he was typecast in similar type of bandit roles.

One more strange thing in the movie was that there no comic artist in the movie as was the trend those days. To accommodate that Sukhilala's character was shown as villain as well as a comedian. Kanhaiyalal as an actor showed his range as a villain in the scene where he tries to molest radha and as a comedian in all the scenes involving his an birju's interaction.

Radha's character till now remains as one of the most strong female character in hindi cinema. Nargis jee will always be remembered for this role and Mehboob Khan for his powerful direction, beautiful and lavish set design and a multi-layered story which gave us a masterpiece like Mother India. .
